Definition
A wooden work station with a flat rectangular surface, often with rounded edges and mounted at one end with a pair of wooden jaws or clamps, one of which is fixed, the other hinged to an adjustable foot operated metal setting. Usually supported by four legs often bridged by a wooden cross-bar. Used to support a horse collar vice when sewing the pieces of leather together. Also use to provide a sitting surface for harness makers and sometime to store tools.
