Definition
A rectangular hide (usually buffalo) bag with a lace closure. It may also be folded and is usually decorated with hand-painted tribal designs or motifs. Used primarily by western plains Indigenous groups, such as the Blackfoot, Plains Cree, Sioux, etc., to store or carry personal belongings or foodstuffs, such as pemmican.
