- Definition
- A device, usually made of aluminum, plastic or cardboard, with markings, consiting of a rotating scale and a sliding panel on one side and a circular slide rule on the other side. Used by pilots, on the ground before takeoff and in the air, to calculate fuel burn, wind correction, time en route, and other information.
