Definition
A desk that has a top portion with a semi-circular or curved cover, called a roll-top, made of thin strips of wood glued to a flexible backing, which slides open to reveal a writing surface. Used as a writing and reading surface when the cover is rolled up. When the cover is rolled down, the inside part is used to hide things from view.
