Definition
An instrument consisting of an often wooden block perforated with a series of chambers sandwiched between two rectangular, metal casings equipped with a series of paired free reeds. Used to produce musical sounds and chords by inhaling or exhaling into the chambers, thereby pushing air over the unobstructed reeds and causing them to vibrate.
